Save Me Hollywood- Everybody Wants You

Fresh from an upcoming EP, Everybody Wants You is Save Me Hollywood’s latest release.

Appropriately released Easter (April 5) of this year, Everybody Wants You breathes new life into the local music scene. This is their latest release since Your Story to Tell back in 2013. Although not completely different from their previous releases, the song leans more toward the poppy side of their musical plane.

Save Me Hollywood is known for their feel good pop punk style that this song very much showcases. However, it could have demonstrated more of the band’s technical skill. Not meaning the song didn’t come together beautifully; it just feels a bit restricted. The thing I found most technical on the song was the drum and bass on the verse, which the song could’ve used one more of. The catchy chorus and refrain nevertheless redeems the song and makes it a great number for stage performances.

The song is a great teaser to their upcoming EP, Headlights. I can’t wait to see how they’ve change since their last album. Whether they stick to being the pop punk band they started as or they evolve into a more pop oriented version, it’s hard not to fall in love with their music.

Follow their Official Facebook to be one of the first people to know about the EP’s release. You can also grab a copy of their previous album, Your Story to Tell at your local music stores. The band will be playing at Music Matters Live in Singapore together with other local and foreign acts on May 20-23 of this year.

Here’s a short clip I took of them performing the song last April 12, 2015 at Astroplus’ Record Store Day PH in Eastwood Central Plaza.
