And I Was Smiling [Micro-Poetry]

She smiled, but time didn’t slow
Like I thought it would
She smiled and I was smiling

She smiled, but there wasn’t
Fading to black and white
Nor did the gray skies turn blue
She smiled and I was smiling

She smiled, at a stupid joke
I made, hardly even original
She smiled and I was smiling

She smiled and a tiny giggle followed
But my heart was barely aflutter
She smiled and I was smiling

She smiled and I was smiling
Two days ago she smiled
And I’m still smiling
